SPECIAL NOTION FOR BOOKING

Eligibility for Practice:

Ages 15 (about 150cm height) to 75, in good health. Sufficient height and body size are necessary to draw the bow adequately. The dojo is not barrier-free, and participants must be able to sit on tatami mats. Those unable to sit or bend their knees, or with injuries to their left hand or wrist, cannot participate.

Special Note on Bow Strength:

Our bows are much weaker than those used in kyudo (10-12kg for women, 15-20kg for men). Our dojo uses bows with a strength of 5-6kg, which even beginners can draw. While the bows are weaker, stable body strength and grip are necessary to hit the target effectively.

Calligraphy Display of your name:

If you hit the target three times out of 16 arrows, you can write your name in calligraphy and have it displayed in the dojo for a certain period. Targets are 18cm (about 7.14 inches) in diameter for beginners. It’s a challenging but rewarding experience to have your name displayed in our historic dojo.

Price Information:

The experience lasts approximately one hour and costs ¥12,000 per person. During the first 15 minutes, you will watch a video tutorial on how to properly draw the bow, where we will guide you through the correct techniques. For the remainder of the time, you will have the opportunity to practice shooting the bow and enjoy the full archery experience.

Reservation Details:

Necessary equipment is provided by the dojo, so customers do not need to bring anything..Since we use bows with reduced power, kyudo gloves (kake) are not provided.Glasses, dangling earrings, and long necklaces may need to be removed for safety.Wear comfortable clothing suitable for movement. High-exposure clothing like camisoles is not recommended.Avoid wearing mini-skirts and tight skirts as you will sit with legs apart; otherwise, you will need to sit in seiza (formal kneeling).Kimono is acceptable; except for hakama, you will sit in seiza (two seiza support cushions are available).Practicing under the influence of alcohol is strictly prohibited.
